HISTORY - Wood Dale had 3 FS&S 500s and an FS&S STH-10.
The 500s were believed to have been Federal Sign & Signal because newspapers state that the town wanted to have a fully functioning Civil Defense siren system by 1972.
The 500 atop station 69 was replaced with a 2001-SRN about 10 feet to the north (the 2001 was later moved to a pole), the 500 at Potter and Edgewood was replaced in either 1997 or 1998 with a very early production T-128, and the 500 atop station 68 was directly replaced with a Fulton T-128 between 1998 and 2006,
The STH-10 was stated to have been from the mid 1950s, which indicates that it was a very early model.
Newspapers also suggest that an older fire siren stood where the STH-10 did, which means some unknown siren served Wood Dale for a time.
