HISTORY - Not much is known about Itasca's siren system history, but there are rumors out there that there was an Alertronic 5000 in town, and a very old photo was found with an unknown siren standing on a tower next to a building. Newspaper articles have stated that between some time period and 2005, Itasca had no siren system. Three 2001-SRNBs were purchased some time in 2005 and were installed by BCI.

Mystery Siren - This siren was found on the Illinois Digital Archives from an unknown year, showing this siren standing on a tower in what was then the rural Itasca. The only guessing there is to put to it personally is a Champion, since an empty champion housing sits in a historic part of town.
Darley Champion Housing - This sits behind a couple restaurants at a historic museum building west of the intersection of Walnut and Irving Park Rd. When I first saw this as I was checking out a Gamewell fire alarm, I thought it was just a garbage can but pointed my camera at it anyway. A number of days later I remembered it, checked the video again, and noticed that it was in fact a Champion housing. I checked when I was there and there was nothing in the housing. I have no idea what town, if it was even Itasca, this came from. Copyright Christopher Aylward
