Old System: Consisted of 5 ACA Allertor 125's from BVNPS that Knox got for free from the county. The Brunner Farm siren was damaged after installation in 2013 and removed around 2014-2015. The remaining sirens at Bingo Hall, Knox School, Homeworth and N. Georgetown remained standing until their removal in April 2019. These sirens hardly worked and were extremely problematic; therefore, they were replaced. Scroll down for photos of the new system.
Homeworth: This Allertor was the last known working on the system. I (Kurt) documented it on 10/27/18. This was labeled #2. Photos taken on: 3/16/19, 10/27/18.
North Georgetown Allertor & Model 5: There was also an inactive Model 5 on a tower next to the FD. This siren was labeled as #3. I also attached photos of the old Model 5. The Model 5 is now removed too. Photos were taken on 3/16/19 by Kurt.
Bingo Hall Allertor: This is the final Allertor I photographed on the old system. This one was labeled #4 and was located at the West Branch Booster Club. Photos taken September 2018. This unit was nonworking up until the system was replaced.
Knox Elementary Allertor - Photographed 3/2019 by Cameron Keske. Labeled siren #1
New System: The new system, installed in March 2019, features three Sentry 14V's and one Sentry 3V8-H-B. The 3V8-H-B is the only battery backed siren on the new system. Since the Allertors were single phase and the 14V's were three phase, Sentry built controllers with VFD phase converters. The sirens were since stepped down from 60 Hz and 50 Hz due to the siren overamping at North Georgetown.
Homeworth 14V: Installed on the same pole as the Allertor, this is the new 14V in Homeworth. Photos taken July 2019.
North Georgetown 14V: This 14V also directly replaced an Allertor in April 2019. It was placed on the same pole and is configured the same way all the other units are. The ACA boxes were retained as the radios are inside. This siren was the one that was overamping. The Model 3 is also gone
Knox School 14V: Same set up as the others. This unit is one of two painted in the West Branch School District color scheme; the other being at Bingo Hall. It is actually across from the school at the Knox Twp. Offices/Service Yard.
